6 Months Old!

I can't believe our baby is 6 months old today!  I know they say it goes fast, but my, it goes REALLY fast.  She's not my tiny baby anymore, she hates being held like a baby too - she has to sit up all the time.  She's a very nosy gal, always looking around to see what's going on.  Sometimes I have to take her in a quieter room to feed her or she won't eat at all!

She's sitting up all on her own.  She might reach far for a toy and topple over, but otherwise she sits up (with pretty good posture I might add) for a long time.

She's babbling all the time and has said her first word!  Yes, you guessed it, "Dadda".  We were in the car when she was just babbling "la, bla, duh, dadda, dadda, dadda".  Doug and I looked at each other like, did she just say what I think she did?  I said it was just coincidence, she has no idea what she's saying!  But then on Monday and Tuesday, both Eileen and the daycare asked when she started saying "Dadda"?  Ok, so fine, I'll put it in the baby book, whatever ;-)  No but really, it's the cutest thing ever to hear an actual word come out of her mouth.  And Doug has been trying to get her to say "Mama", I honestly think he feels bad!

We put Addison's highchair together this afternoon and sat her in it.  She absolutely loved it.  She looks so big sitting in it.  I made her a cupcake for her 1/2 bday and I didn't even get to set it in front of her and she took it out of my hand and demolished it!  Yikes!!  Since she's never had anything except for milk, I didn't want her to eat it so I was frantically trying to clean it up.  I felt like a psycho mom and a neat freak all at the same time - Don't let her eat any of it!!  Oh my goodness, don't let her get it everywhere!  I'm going to have to work on the whole neat freak thing - it's going to be tough.  I had the video camera going, unfortunately when I thought it was taping it wasn't and vice versa.  So there's about 2 seconds of Addison and the cupcake and then minutes of me cleaning her up and the tray.  I was cracking myself up because I kept wiping the tray over and over AND over....you think that's clean enough?!?  Like I said - I have some work to do in that area ;-)

So once I got all that cleaned up, we moved onto her first time eating cereal.  Of course it's really runny cereal, practically milk, so putting that on a spoon and making it to her mouth without her swatting at it was a feat.  I think she might of ingested about half of it, not sure.  She kept smiling at me when she would take a bite, so most of it would come right back out.  But I think she was getting the hang of it and did a lot better by the end.

I have a TON of pictures to post, it was a busy month!  I should have posted sooner but never had the time.  Anyway, enjoy all the pictures!

5 Months

Our little chunker is now 5 months old!  She's a pretty happy baby, although she definitely does have her moments.  Doug likes to say she gets her temper tantrums from me, all I can do is laugh at that one.  I have to remind him of the number of items he's thrown in the lake or flung across the room because it just wasn't cooperating with him!  I think we ALL know the truth to that one....she's a Stein ;-)  She also looks nothing like me, but looks more like her Daddy everyday.  The one thing she did have of mine was her eyes, but now they're pretty much brown.  Isn't that how it goes, I'm the one that carried her for 9 months and went through all the pains of pregnancy and labor and she comes out looking nothing like me!  Maybe with time it will change....yeah, we'll go with that.

Addison is doing great though.  She smiles at everyone and giggles at nothing.  You could just talk to her and she will start laughing.  She finally rolled over last week from her back to her stomach!  I've been trying to get it on video, but haven't had much luck so far.  Once I do though, I'll upload it.  We're also working on sitting up.  She does ok for a minute, but then ends up bending completly over, head touching her legs.  She loves having little conversations with you.  Her voice will get really high-pitched and then real low and will go on and on.  It's so stinking cute!

Here are some pictures of the last month.

We put in steps and a sidewalk to our front door (which no one will ever use!)

Here's some before pictures...

And after...

Addison put her footprints in the sidewalk.

The caption that comes to mind on this picture is "What you talkin 'bout Willis?"

I showed Doug this blog about a month ago and he said "You need more pictures of yourself."  Uhh, really?!?  And how would I go about doing that?  I think he got the hint because that night he caught Addison and I saying our prayers.

Labor Day weekend, hanging out with Grandma Joan.

You have a baby....in a bar!  Ok, so it doesn't count when it's an outside bar right?  We went on a houseboat ride and stopped at Water Street for a bit.  Hangin' with Grammy Cheryl.

I love this picture, this is usually how she is, so smiley.

Daddy's birthday...I got him a cake.

Visiting Papa Mike on a beautiful Friday.

Mom, seriously?

I know her head's cutoff here, it's so hard to try and take the picture one-handed, but I love the face and big eyes.

She loves her jumparoo!

Picking our pumpkin at Grandpa Real's.

Oh, such a hard life.  This is how she eats now, with her hand over her eyes.

Cousin Margo's Baby Shower, can't wait to meet little Daniel in November!

Cousin Jack was always staring at me and I couldn't care less.
"Hey Addison...hey Addison...over here, I'm over here"

Finally some interaction...

So cute holding hands!

Chilly houseboat ride with the Stein family.

She kept smiling in her sleep.  I wonder what she was dreaming about?

5 months old and so big!!
